MC2 Director Katz Featured on Federal News Radio

Jonathan Katz, a professor of computer science and director of the Maryland Cybersecurity Center (MC2), was featured on Federal News Radio Feb. 6, discussing security of government and academic networks, as well as techniques cybercriminals use to carry out attacks.
Katz spoke in particular about the challenges of securing academic networks, citing the culture of openness and sharing on campus and the fact that universities typically want to provide access to numerous academic visitors from all over the world. He also touched on educational efforts at the University of Maryland that aim to train the next generation of cybersecuirty specialists.
