MC2, ACES Program Featured in Gazette Article About Cybersecurity

The Maryland Cybersecurity Center (MC2) and the Advanced Cybersecurity Experience for Students (ACES) program were highlighted today in a Gazette story about the state of cybersecurity in Prince George's County, and the efforts the county and the university are making to enhance it. October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

In the story, ACES student Zhixiang Lin and Michel Cukier, MC2 associate director for education and leader of ACES, provide an overview of the ACES program.

"You have a deficit of people working in cybersecurity, so you need to attract very, very talented people," Cukier says of ACES.

MC2 Director Jonathan Katz's National Science Foundation-funded study, which seeks to make public networks more secure by studying the behavior of network users, is also featured. David Maimon, an assistant professor of criminology and criminal justice, is co-leading the study.
