Maryland Named National Center of Academic Excellence in Research

The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have jointly designated the University of Maryland as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research.

The university received the formal award at the 13th Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education in Seattle, Washington on June 3, 2009.
